The Hong Kong Experience

I feel guilty for not being able to write anything for quite sometime now. Weeks before we left Qatar for our annual vacation, I got my hands full with the teaching job that I had at the nursery. Then it was time to prepare for the much awaited holiday. On May 4, we were off to Hong Kong. Our itinerary was just so tight and it was very difficult to find time to write. Thanks to Tian because he was able to take some time off to update the blog somehow. Our stay in Hong Kong was definitely a blast. This time was different from our visit in 2001. Back then, we were only 2 whereas this time, we were 8 in all (6 adults and 2 kids). Traveling as a couple is definitely much easier than being in a group with both the “young once” and the “young ones”....

Arriving in Hong Kong

We arrived safely in Hong Kong yesterday afternoon at around 2:30. The flight from Doha was delayed but the pilot made up for it and got us to Hong Kong at the expected time. There was a long line at the immigration which seemed to take sooo long. By the time we got to the carousel for our luggages, ours were the only ones left. There was a money exchange counter at the airport so we decided to have some dollars changed so we'll have some HK money on us. The exchange rate was a lowly 7.2 per US dollar. It was drizzling when we got here.Waiting for the Hotelink Service taking us to our hotel It felt nice to be back in...

Off to Hong Kong

I'm currently writing this while at the Silver Club Lounge in Doha Airport. We were able to pass through check-in without that much hassle as we were able to use the Business Class check-in. If we were using the Economy Class line for check-in, it might have taken us more than 30 minutes lining up at the check-in counter. It's a busy night as most people off to vacation from Doha usually travel on Thursday night right after work.  Here's a photo of us goofing around at the Lounge. Our plane is set to leave at 1:10 AM so we got to the airport at about 9:30 expecting the long queues. We are going to arrive in Hong Kong at 2:30 PM. Hopefully, we could update this blog while we're in Hong Kong if we get WiFi access to our hotel room. We don't have anything planned as of yet...
