Life on the Spot! Life and Leisure in Doha, Qatar

Today we got a note from school telling us that Xianelle is going to have her swimming class tomorrow.  For starters, each class is divided into 2 groups; one group will have classes on Tuesday and the other one on Thursdays.  But later on they will be divided depending on their swimming skills and probably their interest. 

A lot of children, parents as well, are so looking forward to this additional program in the school’s curriculum.  Last week parents were sent a list of items, “swimming gears” that the children will need during their classes.  These items include: a swimsuit, goggles, swimming cap, flip flops, towel and a water jug.  Last Friday we went to a sporting goods store and got her goggles and swimming cap.  We spent a good 30 minutes in the store just letting her try them on.  She’s supposed to use a junior cap but with her thick locks, we had to get a regular one. 

Tonight she tried on her 2 swimsuits as we were trying to decide which one is more appropriate for her swimming classes.  But then again it came down to her favorite color, pink.  I will have to prepare her swimming gears tonight before I go to bed and make sure that everything is labeled with her name so that they won’t get misplaced.
