Lulu Hypermarket Trying to Detain My Wife!
I sent my wife off to do our usual yearly Cost of Living list as she was to do her groceries in Lulu Hypermarket (D Ring Road). I printed out a copy of last year’s Cost of Living in Qatar list to make it easier to list the prices down. Apparently, she is now being told that one can not list down prices of commodities and it is not allowed by the shop. She did stop but it seems it isn't over yet.
So at the moment, she called me up and was telling me that the security guys were trying to get hold of the list that we have and they’re even calling the head of security. I told her to ask for the manager as I don’t think this is right at all. They’re even trying to detain her and not let her leave the hypermarket!!! I told her to ask for help so that other people would take notice of what they're doing. I can hear her from the phone as she didn't end the call. They're trying to get her bag and even her ID! This is harassment.
It’s ok for you to ban cameras but to stop people from getting prices of stuff from the grocery? That’s way too absurd. So as a consumer and someone buying items from the grocery store, you can’t even get prices off their items? What the **** is going on? Don’t we have any consumer rights at all in Doha?

I already called the police as the line was cut off hoping that they could go to Lulu and check on my wife if she is being detained illegally. I got a call from her as I was about to tell the police to go there.
