Game Day Tuesday

I was bringing a small booklet of Halo 3 in the office which a colleague saw and took notice of. Although he hasn’t really kept up with all the gaming consoles, he was interested with what he saw. He started talking about how he and his brother got their first Atari Computer System (also called Atari VCS or Atari 2600) by saving and pooling their money. They bought the Atari Computer System from their cousin thinking they were going to get it cheaper but were mistaken and eventually paid more than the market price.

Eventually, we decided to have a gaming day on Tuesday next week and invited some of our colleagues to join us. And just in time, my other Xbox 360 controller from DELL (got a $25 off $25 coupon) arrived yesterday. I was telling him of the Nintendo Wii where he can play tennis, boxing and bowling but wasn’t interested unitl I told him that you actually have to make the motions of swinging a racket or punching your opponent to play it. He told me he wanted to play shooting games but I’m not too sure he’ll get the hang of the control since his last foray into console gaming was with the Famicom (Family Computer by Nintendo/NES in the U.S.). With the Famicom, you only had the direction pad plus 2 buttons (remember up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A). Now with the Xbox 360, you have the directional pad (D-pad), right and left thumbstick, right and left buttons, right and left trigger, plus the A,B, X, Y, start, and back buttons. You can even press the right and left thumbsticks for more movements/options. You basically have more than 14 buttons, triggers and sticks to control!  I already told Mavis and she has plans to go to her friend so that us boys can have the house to ourselves on Gaming day.
