Busy Week
This week was one of the busiest I’ve ever had since we came here in Doha. It was busy primarily because I had to prepare food for the “Game Day Tuesday” that he had set for his colleagues at work. I had planned to cook pancit, fresh lumpia (spring rolls) and fried chicken. But since I had to do the preparations all by myself, I had to it ahead of time. So come Sunday, I did my marketing. On Monday I prepared the ingredients which involved a lot of chopping and slicing vegetables. Then the next day was allotted for cooking. I was just so relieved to have been able to finish everything before I left to fetch Xiane. It was also very rewarding to find out that Tian’s friends liked what I prepared for them.
Since I had spent the last 2 days preparing food, I decided to spend my Wednesday at Villagio with a friend. We did our usual visit to Carre Four, breakfast at Mc Donald’s and window shopping. Today, Thursday, I spent the morning having the car jack and body washed. Thank God the rain didn’t push through today as had been forecasted. Luckily too, I was one of the first customers who came at 7am. But just the same I waited for almost 2 hours for them to finish cleaning up the car. It felt so good to see the car so clean and shiny again. It was clean inside and out. I decided not to go home today and stayed at a friend’s house instead. I just thought it would be pointless to drive home for 30-40 minutes only to come back in less than 3 hours.
When I got to the house my friend wasn’t there though. She was out shopping with her friend. Their house help was kind enough to let me in and entertain me though. I spent the time talking to her and reading my Ahlan magazines. I left early though the house was just 5 minutes away from school.
After picking up my husband we went straight to City Center to look for a booster seat and trainers for Xiane. We learned that Mother Care is on sale so we decided to check it out first. Luckily we were able to find a nice pink booster seat which had a V.I.P. for “Very Important Princess” written on it. Tian was more keen on buying the navy blue one because it won’t easily get dirty but when Xiane saw the pink one, she didn’t want to let it go. Well, if I were Xianelle I would also definitely choose the pink one. It was also a good thing that they have some nice trainers available in Xiane’s size. We got a pair that was a bit bigger since we know how fast these kids grow.
It really had been a busy week for the three of us that’s why every weekend is such a relief and blessing. We are very thankful for the 2 days of rest and relaxation that we have every single week. It is the time to replenish our bodies from all the work and stress that it had to endure during the week- and as they say TGIF “Thank God It’s Friday”. A happy and restful weekend to all!
