Xbox 360 Update

We went to Villagio today, specifically, Virgin Megastore, to look for the Xbox Elite 360. I really didn't buy the 360 yet since the Elites that they had last week were manufactured in July. This means that they don't have the Falcon Motherboards yet. For those who are not in the know, the Falcon motherboards are sought after since they produce less heat and hopefully, reduces that possibility of having the 3 red rings of light error. What they had before were from TEAM FDOU but the lot no. was 0725. Usually, Falcons come from TEAM FDOU but have a higher lot no. like 742. So we went back today to see if the last 2 Elites that they had last week were already sold. And they were. However, they don't have any stocks of the Elite yet and don't know when they're going to have them again. Still, there is no security that the new stocks would be Falcons.

I'll be holding out on buying since there are no other places in qatar which sells the Xbox 360 Elite. I just have to make do with playing COD3 on my old trusty Xbox (1) and play online on Xlink Kai. Hopefully, they'll have the Elites early next year.

YOu can never get anything in qatar...and anyone who works in a game store dont know shit about their jobs.....they never know when the`re new batches come in...some stores say `not anytime soon``i doubt if u`ll get a 360 with a falcon chipset anytime soon...thts why i gave up finding...the latest stock ive seen here is a halo 3 edition fdou 730 at pc one on Salwa Rd and i saw another one at a store in Al Nasr Rd...they dont even have the premiums with HDMI yet(havent seen any)..they better have it at Virgin or somewhere by christmas or new year or im gonna be pissed...anyways gd luck finding it. oh btw..to know if its a falcon...dont only look at the lot number...look at the power usage or whtever they call it...earlier 360s use 203 Watts...if its 175 Watts its definitly a 65nm falcon..and if u do find one..post a reply saying where u bought it..thnx

I don't think they'll ever have the Elites in Virgin anytime soon. I saw about 8 more of the Cores just outside their stock room aside from the 6-8 on display. Here's a phone conversation I have with one of their CSRs yesterday: Me: I would like to know if you have the Xbox 360 Elite in stock. Virgin CSR: Yes. We do have the Xbox 360. Me: Do you have the Elite System? Virgin CSR: Yes we have them. Me: What is the color of the box if it's the Elite? Virgin CSR: Green!

With regards to the Power Brick being 175W, it is noted that some boxes have 205W labels outside but the Power Brick itself is 175W. In most stores, if not all, the boxes are still packed in plastic so there is no way of opening the box before buying.

yeah..the first few falcons were released with 203 Watts..but i`d buy the 175 Watts just to be shure....or the halo 3 edition fdou 734 and above...the 360 elites with falcons i think are fdou or cscon 749 upwards which u will most likely have in qatar after five years...but im sure they`ll get newer systems by new year or maybe january....and other places too....the only thing that would suck after that would be buying games that costs 300 riyals....but still...for me im either buying a falcon or not buying a 360 at all

If they don't get the Falcons by January, I'd just buy the Non Falcon Elite since I'm still supposed to be covered by in store warranty, which I don't think means that much. I was able to buy some Region-free games from amazon which I paid less than half of what they're selling them for here. They would play in a PAL or NTSC box. Still, I can't play them yet. Enjoying COD3 online so I think I can still wait for a bit.

Shane, Head to PC One as they have the Xbox Elite and they're Falcons! Although the first one I bought had RRoD out of the box! One year warranty though so they immediately replaced the whole thing. Only 2 boxes left so hurry!
