Eid Diaries- Day 7, Thursday

Yesterday was the last day of our Eid holiday.  It was quite a busy day.  In the morning we managed to bring Xiane to Al Biddah Park.  We were supposed to go really early but Xiane wanted to sleep some more so we had to wait till she was ready to get up.  Since it was already late and hot we didn’t stay long at the park.  We just gave her sometime to play and then left. We dropped by the fish market at the Corniche and bought some crabs which we were to bring to our friend’s house for dinner.

We ate lunch while watching “Ratatouiile” which by the way we didn’t finish since we were all tired and had to take a nap.  At around 3:30 pm we had to get up and prepare to leave to visit our friends.  Xiane got to play with her friend Princess while I chatted with Dimps (her mom) while preparing dinner.  It was really funny because Dimps was telling me on the phone that she didn’t have anything to cook because they haven’t got the chance to do their groceries.  She even asked if I could bring a can of tomato sauce over.  But when we got there, she had already cooked the tofu with oyster sauce, mixed veggies with quail eggs and her pasta.  That’s why we ended up having lots of food since I was also bringing fried chicken and crabs not to mention Sandro bought 2 boxes of Papa John’s Pizza.  In short it was a feast.  We were just so full.  After a while I was already getting sleepy.  The kids continued playing, the moms kept chatting and the dads couldn’t get their hands off the Xbox and played NBA.

We got home at around past 10:00.  Xiane slept late as she still played with the DS while Tian and I slept at past 3 in the morning.  We just couldn’t stop watching House M.D.  But happy days are over, we just have the weekend to spend on watching House and then it’s back to reality.  No more staying up late, no more getting up late.  It’s time to get back in the game called “reality”.  It was fun though while it lasted.  I am so thankful for the time we were able to spend as a family, just laying, watching and chilling out.  We look forward to the next Eid holiday which is just about 2 months away.
