2 more days to go!
We're almost ready to go! Today, I went to my company's HR dept. to get my exit permit. I also had to settle some finances with my bank. It was terribly hot this morning as my thermometer was reading 45.
Our tickets are also ready. Our flight would be Doha-Hong Kong-Manila and return would be Manila-Doha. We would have a connecting flight with Cebu Pacific for our Hong Kong - Manila flight. We were supposed to take the Cathay flight but since the Agency we were dealing with didn't have rates when we last asked on April 10, I decided to take matters on my own. Thus, I booked our flight through Qatar Airways and Cebu Pacific, online.Qatar Airways now offer booking and buying of tickets online, which I think is really good as you can do the checking of flights yourself. The rates are comparable if not better than given by the agents. Once I bought the tickets online, we went to City Centre the next day to get the e-tickets. You can get the e-tickets at the airport if you want but in my case, I feel better knowing that I already have the tickets at hand. I payed QR3050/Adult for the Doha-Hong Kong/ Manila - Doha flight. Then the Hongkong-Manila flight costs 400HKG/Adult.
Mavis has started packing stuff and hopefully, would finish at the end of the day tomorrow. We not supposed to take a lot but after looking at all the things we really wanted to take home, it simply can not be. We planned to just take 2 luggages, a sports/duffel bag and Mavis' trolley plus my camera bag and her laptop bag. Now, we have the above plus one more bag.
For the past 2 nights, Mavis and I have been finding it difficult to sleep. We're probably just excited about our vacation. It's been more than a year since we got home. The only thing were going to miss in Doha would probably be our TV series downloads. And to think most of the TV series were watching are near their season finale... CSI, CSI Miami, 24, Smallville and Heroes!!!
