Fancy Gowns for a Fancy Girl

About three weeks ago we were at the Souq Al Hamad hoping that we could find a nice but fairly-priced study table for our daughter Xianelle. Unfortunately, not a single store was selling the item that we were looking for. Instead we ended up, going around the Souq, mostly from one electronic shop to another, looking at the prices of the Nintendo Wii. Then we passed by this dress shop for little girls. From the display window, anyone who's passing would definitely be attracted by the colorful and glittery small gowns. So I was tempted to go inside. The design of the gowns were anything but ordinary. Looking at the dresses alone would make you think, who in the world would let her girl wear such a gown.

At first look, they were rather too ornate for a little girl. But this lady who was tending the shop and who by the way is Filipina, was nice enough to offer that my daughter could try on some gowns and have her photo taken for souvenir. Then I thought, why not. Who cares if it was too ornate or complicated for Xiane. She'll be able to try them on without the pretense of buying one. The next thing we knew, there was Xianelle posing for the camera, my Fuji F20 which I always bring with me. Surprisingly she looked so pretty with the gowns that she tried on. I was suprised that it didn't look funny on her. It was awesome! I'm just glad that she had the chane to try on the gowns because with prices ranging from 250-400, I don't think she would ever have any other chance to wear those fancy gowns.
