Buying a Wii!
Wii!
I decided to buy a Nintendo Wii last week as I was enticed with the notion of having to play games using hand motions. It's not like your Eye Toy from PS2 as you hold the controller yourself and control the movements of your character with the flick of your wrist and movement of your Wiimote.
I found it difficult looking for an available Nintendo Wii online. All of the online sellers (Sears, Toys R Us, Costco, Amazon, Circuit City, Nintendo) are out of stock. I had my browser tabs opened for days, clicking on the refresh button once every hour or so, waiting for one of the stores to have it in stock. I was almost losing hope as it was almost a week since I started looking for my Wii. Luckily, as I was checking one of my favorite sites (it's a secret!), I got news that Sears had the Nintendo Wii. I immediately refreshed my Sears tab and did get the Add to Cart option instead of the usual Out of Stock message which crushed me everytime I saw it. I finally got to order one last January 25 at about 11 PM here. Some Forum posters from my fav site who tried to get their Wii at Sears did get the Add to Cart option but was given the Out of Stock message upon checking out. It was just minutes after I got mine checked out when they tried to order theirs. That gave me less confidence on the shipment of my Wii as some sites, even after getting a check out, would email you days later telling you that they cancelled your order. "It's never gonna be confirmed", I told myself as I waited for almost a week for the confirmation email to come.
