Amazon Shipping to Qatar

You can apply for Amazon Prime which gives you Overnight shipping within the US for $3.99.

You pay US$79 per year. Although you can share this with 4 other members. Amazon says that they should be in the same household but through experience, it doesn't matter where you ship your items; can be of any shipping address. So if you divide it to 4 people, you pay less.
You may also want to check your account in Amazon, then go to Manage my Amazon Prime. Amazon often times gives you a free trial of 1 -3 months using Amazon Prime. Just make sure that after you sign -up (for free if ever) that you go back to your Amazon Prime Setting and choose non-automatic renewal of membership after your trial expires.

Now, for US/UK delivery to Qatar, I suggest you use Aramex Shop and Ship. Details here...

Basically, once you apply for Shop & Ship services, they give you an address in the US/UK where you can send your stuff to, then Aramex delivers it to Qatar. You can pick up the items in their main office. The article also explains how it might even be faster and cheaper to use Aramex Shop & Ship instead of using Amazon shipping directly to Qatar.

I have always been thinking of since Amazon does not deliver non-book items (I think) outside the US, I'm thinking of using the services of this Aramex. However, another problem occurs to me. What if I order a lens and it's defective, i still have to send it back to US. The lenses here in Qatar are very very expensive! Instead of a 3.64 usd exchange rate it can go up to 5 riyals for a dollar, even more.

amazon does deliver some non-book items to the middle east but very limited items. The only thing about buying electronics from the US and having them shipped here is warranty. What if the lens you bought was a bad copy? You do have to send it to the US which will cos you more than what you intended to in the first place.

When i was in the US, I use Amazon Prime (trial) because I wanna make sure I'll receieve the item before I leave US. Then, I deleted my credit card details afterwards :) I don't order that much from amazon so I don't think the fee is worth it plus many of the items qualify for super saver shipping - just needs a little bit of planning :)
