Ooopsss! My Apologies

Yesterday, we were in the Souk, hoping that we would be able to send money through the remittance office. But to our dismay, we found out that the office won’t open until 7pm. So I just decided to go to a Filipino grocery (not that it’s owned by a Filipino, it only sells items from the Philippines. I was actually looking for a 6 kilogram pack/box of laundry detergent but they only had the smaller ones, so I decided to buy Magnolia Ube Ice Cream. So we went home, then I opened and started eating the ice cream. I was giving Tian some since he was behind the wheels. We were already along D-Ring Road when I suddenly realized that I shouldn’t be eating since it was only 5pm. I’m not a Muslim but out of respect for our Muslim brothers, I felt so embarrassed having eaten almost ¾ of the pint of ice cream. As soon as I realized I stopped eating. Just a thought for other non-Muslims, let us try to be more cautious and aware of our actions especially this season so that we won’t end up or seem to be disrespectful of their beliefs and culture during this time of year.

These first days of Ramadan really ARE tough on us, aren't they? I brought a water bottle along on my walk the other day here in Saudi and felt like such a heel when I realized what I'd done. Give us a few days and we'll be fine tho! Nice new blog btw.

Hi Lori! Yup you bet it's a bit tough and takes a lot of conscious effort especially for us non-Muslims. But as you've said, everything will be fine in no time. Thanks for reading our blog. It's so nice to know that somebody from Saudi gets to read our blog since we also lived there before. Hope you continue to visit our site.
